Sport plays a vital role in people’s lives and is an integral part of our society. The BTEC National Diploma in Sport allows you to study the diverse nature of sport and physical activity across a variety of topic areasYou will study anatomy and physiology and the effects of playing sport has on these systems. You will gain experience of a personal trainer where you will fitness test a ‘client’, test their fitness and report back to them on your findingsYou will investigate how people learn to play sport and the psychology of sportYou will also study how to lead groups of people within sport and also develop your coaching skills. You will also investigate the job opportunities in sport and the business side of sportThis is a varied course which any student interested in the world of Sport will find enjoyable and thought provoking.

How you will study

The national diploma in Sport involves studying a wide range of areas, which directly affect performance. Classwork will aid your preparation for both the written examinations and coursework assessment of the course   You will need to refer to sporting examples throughout your studies and show a keen interest in class discussions. On the practical side, you will have to show your leadership ability, your coaching ability and your investigative ability.
