Our careers lead Suzanne Moore organises opportunities for all our students throughout their time in the sixth form. This involves university visits and support with UCAS application system as well as the higher level apprenticeships and future employment.
As part of our ongoing support and guidance we use tutor time and one-to-one meetings to support the students through their UCAS applications. To add to this, we have developed strong partnerships with both local universities and employers to deliver assemblies and workshops about UCAS, university life, student finance and entrance exams.
Alongside this, we have also built a package for students considering applying for higher apprenticeships. Our careers team have bought in employers that are using the apprenticeship programme to enhance their workforce to deliver assemblies and follow up support. Our school careers advisor organises such events whilst also supporting students who are unsure about their next steps by having one-to-one guidance meetings.
At Manor we also value giving the students the opportunity to experience the world of work in their chosen career path. At the end of year 12 we invite all students to source and take part in work experience of their choosing. This not only allows students to confirm their aspirations but also gives extra evidence for personal statements and references.
